Got a nice complement from my music teacher tonight at my electric bass lesson from the open-mike night experience.  Norm is the guy playing guitar and singing in the video.  He said he was very pleased with my progress and that I did a lot better than he thought I would for the amount of time I have had lessons and with no music background (other than being a groupie for my wife and daughter...but that probably doesn't really count as music background).  

We started "Smoke on the Water" tonight.  That will the the third song in my 3 song set in April.  I think I will actually have fun this next time...ha.

Very foggy and cold this morning.  Has been this way all week.

I actually had a preliminary conversation about retiring today at my work.  Although it is a long way off: 2012 or 2013, it is yet another time capsule measurement.  Since I wish to maximize my retirement, I will need to finish the work years strong.  Added motivation for maximum income.

Started practicing tonight on my song set for my rock debut in April… will be the best three of these five songs:

“I - IV - V in A – Blues ”  Traditional Blues Riff  (My favorite)

“Midnight Hour”   - Wilson Picket

“Baby, Please Don’t Go”  - Van Morrison

“House of the Rising Sun”  - Animals

Three months out and I NEED MORE TIME!! – HA.  Practice - Practice - Practice
