Sunrise is the instant at which the upper edge of the Sun appears above the horizon. Sunrise & sunset are, from one point of view, optical illusions. Objects appear higher in the sky than they are in reality. Sunrise reminds us of our ephemeral life. What we decide to do with each precious capsule of time is of our own choosing. Let it not be said at the end of our day that our perceived value on earth was an optical illusion and our worth appeared to be higher than it was in reality.

My new band 'Another Day in Paradise' has its first gig coming up fast on the calendar. I am excited.
(and also dreaming ...fooled ya). Yet, someday just perhaps...
"We die daily. Happy are those who daily come to life as well." ~ George MacDonald
I often feel quite blessed that I am having a do-over, a second turn, a chance to use the gift of time.
"Each day is an opportunity to travel back into tomorrow's past and change it." ~ Robert Brault
We live in our own time machine..we can change the past by living our dream today, for tomorrow, today will surely become the past we reflect upon. rlw

To realize the value of one year:
Ask a student who has failed a final exam.
To realize the value of one month:
Ask a mother who has given birth to a premature baby.
To realize the value of one week:
Ask an editor of a weekly newspaper.
To realize the value of one hour:
Ask the lovers who are waiting to meet.
To realize the value of one minute:
Ask the person who has missed the train, bus or plane.
To realize the value of one-second:
Ask a person who has survived an accident.
To realize the value of one millisecond:
Ask the person who has won a silver medal in the Olympics
Time waits for no one. Treasure every moment you have.
You will treasure it even more when you can share it with someone special. - unknown

SUNRISE - February 3, 2011
"You’re writing the story of your life one moment at a time."Doc Childre and Howard Martin
Day two with new hearing-aids.
When I departed the parking garage yesterday I noticed this little bell dinging to let pedestrians and bicyclists on the sidewalk near the exit know that a car was about to emerge from the opening. I thought that was pretty cool and a good safety feature.
When I arrived this morning I mentioned it to the the valet guys and asked when had they installed that new feature. With a straight face the young kid looked right at me and said" About seven years ago, sir."
It is like a new adventure every day - in stereo. Now I find myself asking people to tone it down and speak more quietly. Still, it is better than "Say again?" I also find that I hear more than I need to know.
